Problem
A diesel generator at a remote site had to be controlled without anyone travelling there. [Add: distance, how often it was needed, what it cost before.]
Hardware
An Arduino UNO controller with a GSM modem on UART, wired to the generator controls. [Add: relay or contactor interface, sensing, power supply, enclosure.]
Firmware
C/C++ firmware that receives commands by SMS, operates the generator and reports status. [Add: sender checks, fault handling, modem recovery.]
Result
